[100TC8B] [ANIMATED] Innocence

VARIATION 1 - "INNOCENCE"

So the theme was Innocence… or rather, in this image, the lack thereof. I decided to depict Edward and Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist for the Part B / fanart version this time, from the scene early on in the series concerning the resurrection of their mother (or not, as it were). The words on the screen are from the English version of the song “Brothers" - which, for those of you that don’t know - is sung by Vic Mignogna, the voice actor of Ed. The second verse is supposed to be from Al’s viewpoint even though it’s being sung by "Edward," basically.

It’s kind of amusing I ended up drawing children for both of these image parts, yet they have such different tones / atmospheres. I have to say though I’m very pleased with the end result for both images. If anyone’s curious what the Latin phrase is in the fourth panel in the background, it’s “Contra vim mortis non crescit herba in hortis" which basically means "Although you search any garden, you won’t find a medical remedy against the lethal power of death." Which, frankly, is very apt for the themes of FMA in general and the primary reason I included it.
