_{So, this is a birthday present for the ever-wonderful =Ribbontail. She has not only been a huge inspiration to me, but a deep and loyal friend, and for that alone I want to thank her with much gratitude. Her birthday was December 18, but no, I did not forget about it. In all honesty, I haven't had the time to do much of anything art-wise; this past week I wasn't even at my house, let alone working on art! But I tried very hard to get this done and spent two whole days working on it, so I hope the outcome is okay.

Personally, I'm rather pleased with it, seeing the time frame I did this fullpiece in. I also experimented with my shading style a little more, tried a few gradients, et cetera.

Anyways, this is =Ribbontail's character Alpha, also known to some of us Puppet fans as Alpha PuppetRibbontail, haha. I really wanted to break away from drawing NeoRibbontail, since I've done that for her last two birthdays. Originally I was planning on doing Infineon, but I got distracted by Puppet, who is one of my favorite characters from her novel Enter Emalia. And then after looking at Puppet's reference, I got distracted by Alpha. So there you go!

I'm positive I got the anatomy wrong in places, but that's mainly due to the fact I was purposely botching it. I actually enjoy botching anatomy and making it look wonky in areas. It's probably not everyone's thing, but I find it fun and pleasing all the same.

Also, remind me never again to draw on of her ribbontail characters. Haha, only kidding! But the ribbons and the mane really were rather daunting to me. (I should have gone with Infineon, I swear. @__@...)

Haaa, but Puppet is so pretty here. Seeing this reminds me of how AWFUL her ref looks. I'm terrible! But you drew her very well. The colors look wonderful-- those saturated browns and reds are always complimentary to her-- and as always I LOVE your style of drawing fur. I admire how you've got your own style of drawing fur, yet it seems to go well with any character. And I looove the bloood on her face, it's absolutely gorgeous. The only critique I can offer for this one is that her jaw seems a little bit short... Alpha's got this long, gangly jaw. Haha! Although that might be the angle; her snout is always tricky to draw.

Are you still working with a mouse? If so, the linework is pretty damn impressive here! As a fellow mouse-user, I must say that doing digital lines with a MOUSE is grueling. I can hardly attempt to do such a thing, but it seems as though you've got it nailed. I'd really love to see what kind of stuff you can do with a TABLET!
